DailyNest is a daily email digest service for parents. It connects to your Gmail account, identifies emails related to your children's schools, activities, and appointments, and sends you an organized daily summary.
When you sign in with Google, DailyNest requests access to:
Gmail (read and send): We read your incoming emails to identify kid-related content (school newsletters, activity schedules, medical appointments, etc.). We use send access solely to deliver your daily digest to your inbox. We do not read, store, or access any emails unrelated to your children.
Google Calendar: When you tap "Add to Calendar" in your digest, we create a calendar event on your behalf. We do not read or modify your existing calendar events.
Profile information: We access your name and email address to personalize your digest and create your account.
We store the minimum data needed to operate the service:
Account information: Your name, email address, digest preferences (time, frequency, timezone), and recipient list.
OAuth tokens: Encrypted authentication tokens that allow us to access Gmail and Calendar on your behalf. These are encrypted at rest and never shared.
Email metadata: We store the ID, subject line, and sender of emails we have already processed, solely to avoid processing the same email twice. We do not store email body content.
Extracted items: Events, deadlines, and action items extracted from your emails are stored temporarily to generate your digest and enable calendar integration. Digest content is retained for 30 days for your reference, then automatically deleted.
We do not sell, share, or transfer your personal data to third parties for advertising, marketing, or any other purpose unrelated to operating DailyNest.
We do not store the full content of your emails. We read them, extract relevant information, and discard the content.
We do not use your data to train AI models. Your email content is processed by the Anthropic Claude API to extract structured information, then discarded. Anthropic does not retain API inputs for training.
We do not access emails unrelated to your children. Our AI classification step filters out work emails, marketing, social media notifications, and other non-kid content before any processing occurs.
Google APIs: We use Google Gmail API and Google Calendar API to read emails and create calendar events. Google's privacy policy applies to their services.
Anthropic Claude API: Email content is sent to the Anthropic Claude API for AI-powered extraction of events, deadlines, and action items. Anthropic does not retain API inputs. See Anthropic's privacy policy for details.
Render: Our application is hosted on Render. See Render's privacy policy for infrastructure-level data handling.
OAuth tokens are encrypted at rest using Fernet symmetric encryption. All data transmission uses HTTPS/TLS. We follow standard security practices for a web application handling sensitive data.
Processed email records are automatically deleted after 30 days. Digest history is retained for 30 days. You can delete your account at any time by contacting us, which removes all stored data including OAuth tokens, preferences, and digest history.
You can revoke DailyNest's access to your Google account at any time through your Google Account settings (Security > Third-party apps with account access). This immediately stops all email scanning and digest delivery.
You can request a copy of your stored data or request deletion by emailing alixgrosbard@gmail.com.
DailyNest processes emails about children but does not collect information directly from children. The service is intended for use by parents and caregivers.
DailyNest uses session cookies to keep you signed in while you use the service. These cookies are strictly functional, not used for tracking or advertising, and expire when you log out or after a period of inactivity. We do not use any third-party analytics or advertising cookies.
We may update this policy as the service evolves. Significant changes will be communicated via email to registered users.
